In this week’s earnings recap, 17 companies belonging to the S&P 500 financial sector (NYSEARCA:XLF) reported their earnings for the period ended December.
In the fourth quarter, XLF had advanced 6.6%, exceeding SPY’s rise of 2.2%. QTD, XLF has risen 8.1%, above SPY’s 3.7% rise.
