Seven-time champion Tom Brady has used his vast experience to name a factor that will “go a long way” to determining the Super Bowl 2025 winners.
The Philadelphia Eagles meet the Kansas City Chiefs at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome on Sunday (6.30pm ET) in Super Bowl LIX, ending a build-up that Brady says includes numerous behind-the-scenes challenges.
“The two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, from the time you win your championship game to kick-off in the Super Bowl, are two of the most exciting weeks in your life,” analyst Brady told NFL on Fox.
“There are so many fun things you get to do. The ability to limit distractions during the week, even though those things are really exciting and fun, goes a long way to determining who the winner is.
“If they win that game, there are plenty more distractions to come. We’re going to see, on Super Bowl Sunday, who handles the distractions best.”

Super Bowl LIX: Brady on ‘so much fun’
Quarterback Brady was the Most Valuable Player in the Super Bowl on five occasions across his six triumphs with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
That last title was Super Bowl LV in 2021, when Brady says he had to decide which of the “5,000 ticket requests” he received would be “denied”.
“You’ve got to decide who’s coming to the game and help with all the logistics,” he explained. “The goal of the first week is to get a lot of the game planning and prep done, but also get all of the logistical things handled for all your family and friends.
“I was very fortunate because I played in a few of them, so I got pretty good at that late in my career. A lot of people could help me.
“When it’s your first time, it’s really tough because people are coming from everywhere to try to be involved. And then when you get down to the Super Bowl site, you have the media night, which is so much fun. They give you all this Super Bowl swag.
“Usually on one of your first two nights, you get to go out with your buddies and go to dinner. We’d go out for a team dinner and someone would pick a restaurant. We’d make the younger guys pay and we had a blast.”

Super Bowl ‘unlike any other game’
Brady recalled how player entourages would start to arrive later in the week, with stars seeing their families on the Friday night before the game. “On the Saturday, you’d have a big photo and media day on the Super Bowl site,” he said.
“When you look at the combination of all those things, it’s unlike any other game you’ll ever play in. There’s so much attention every time you turn the TV on.
“It’s important not to get caught up in all those distractions. You’ve really got to focus and try to make the game as normal as you can from a preparation standpoint.”
