ICC favoring Pakistan over India? Global body allows huge thing to happen

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has seen the International Cricket Council being crushed between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The two countries have been involved in a tussle for a while, but so far, no solution has been there.

The schedule of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, along with the venue and the format, is yet to be announced even though the tournament is around the corner. However, amid all the uncertainty, the global cricket body has sent the trophy to Pakistan for an official trophy tour.

The silverware of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 arrived in Islamabad on Thursday

The silverware of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 arrived in Islamabad on Thursday (November 14) and will be taken across the country over the next week. As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the trophy tour will take place from November 16 to 24.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be having stoppages at Murree, Hunza, Muzaffarabad and Skardu. Apart from this, the title will also be taken to the second tallest mountain in the world after Everest, K2. Climbing the mountain takes a lot of risk and has a high fatality rate. But it is considered safer to climb from the Pakistan side.

The trophy won’t be taken to Lahore, Karachi and Pindi

The trophy won’t be taken to Lahore, Karachi, and Pindi, where the tournament will be played. This is because of the smog and apart from this, it is learned that the Pakistan Cricket Board and Pakistan government are trying to promote tourism in the country and are taking it to new places.

On the tournament front, there hasn’t been any clarity related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has denied traveling to Pakistan after not getting clearance from the government. On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) too is aggressive in its stance and is keen to host the entire tournament in their country.

Mr. Nawaz Sharif should approach Mr. Modi directly to open a new chapter in relations – Former PCB Chairman

There have been talks related to the Hybrid model as well but Pakistan isn’t considering that. The reports in Cricbuzz claimed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be announcing the schedule of the tournament, and the ball is in the ICC’s court, which is trying to engage with the stakeholders.

Former Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman also talked about the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 situation. He said that PM Nawaz Sharif should approach Mr Modi directly. Speaking to the local news, he explained:

“Mr. Nawaz Sharif should approach Mr. Modi directly to open a new chapter in relations while also initiating back-channel talks with India to break the deadlock.”

The PCB confirmed on Sunday that it received an email from the ICC about India’s decision. They have asked the global Cricket body about the reasons behind the BCCI’s call and they have asked the Indian body about the same.
