Travis Kelce’s dad Ed Kelce has shared what he thinks his son’s relationship with Taylor Swift will be like once the craziness of the Super Bowl is done and dusted.
Ed shared his insight into the high-profile romance during an interview with Australia’s Today show on Thursday, February 6.
“I think, you know, once we get past the Super Bowl, I think it’s going to be a very good period of time for the two of them,” he told hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo. “Without the NFL season, without the Eras tour. Just them alone really connecting more. I think that can only be a good thing.”
Ed sidestepped addressing speculation of a looming engagement between Travis and Swift however, when host Stefanovic, 50, joked about needing to know the wedding date so he could “book his fare.”
“Okay, good,” Ed responded with good humor. “Did you really think I was going to come up with that?”
Ed also couldn’t be drawn into confirming speculation that Swift will make a surprise appearance to perform at the New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome on Sunday, where Travis’ team, the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles at the 2025 Super Bowl.
“I wouldn’t, I have no idea,” Ed replied when asked if he knew whether the “Fortnight” singer was making a surprise cameo at the event. “I haven’t talked to Taylor this week. I have no idea what her plans are. I would let her publicist talk to you about that.”

Ed was more forthcoming about how big of a fan he was of his son’s girlfriend though, divulging what it’s like to sit next to her during Travis’ football games.
“She’s learning much more about football. She’s watching football with her dad a lot. She’s watching football whenever she can,” Ed revealed. “It was funny. We’re sitting in the game and the Chiefs were in the in the red zone. And they had… to go for a field goal. And I’m sitting there thinking, ‘I hate field goals.’ And Taylor comes back and says, ‘I’ll take the points.’”
He continued, “And I’m thinking, ‘look at you… a year ago you didn’t know a field goal from an extra point, and now you’re doing all this football talk.’ So I think she’s enjoying the game and she’s a very smart young lady.”
Summing up, Ed added, “She’s just a joy to be around.”
During the interview Ed also confirmed that there was no question he’d be rooting for Travis and his team despite the Eagles — the team his eldest son Jason played for prior to his 2024 retirement — also being involved in the final showdown.
“I think Jason would love to see his brother do well,” Ed said, adding, “He still has his loyalties to the Eagles. As far as me, I only got one dog in this fight.”
