In the fifth round, Chisora had Wallin holding on midway. Chisora suffered a cut between the right eye and eyebrow from a clash of heads. He also had a small cut on the left eyebrow. Before the round started, referee John Latham examined the cut and should have had the corner wipe his blood-smeared face before continuing.

In the sixth round’s final minute, Wallin used an effective jab with a solid left, opening the cut again. In the tenth round, Chisora stopped fighting on the ropes, put his arms up, and then went back to work. In the final minute, Wallin again opened up the cut with a left hand.

In the eleventh round’s final minute, Chisora landed an overhand right on the chin of Wallin. In the twelfth and final rounds final minute, Chisora kept the pressure on Wallin, landing a five-punch combination with the final right knocking Wallin to the canvas as Referee Latham gave the 8-count. Upon rising, it looked like it was over, but the bell sounded.
