Fans Alarmed By Mariah Carey’s ‘Stiff’ Movements In Viral Video

Mariah Carey has fans buzzing with concern after videos from her “Celebration of Mimi” residency at Park MGM in Las Vegas went viral, showing the singer appearing “stiff” on stage.

In the clip, Carey dons a pink bodysuit with a sheer skirt and matching chunky heels as she gracefully sings one of her hits.

While Mariah Carey moves slowly across the stage, occasionally pausing to engage with her dancers, their energetic performance contrasts noticeably with her more reserved movements.

In one widely shared video, Carey was performing her hit song “Fantasy” when she took a few slow steps to the side of the stage. As a backup dancer energetically moved around her, the pop icon remained mostly stationary before making her way back to centerstage to finish the song.

The 55-year-old Grammy winner dazzled in a pink bodysuit with a sheer tulle skirt flowing past her towering platform heels. However, her limited movement in the clip left some fans speculating about her well-being.

Another video from the same night showed Carey in the all-pink ensemble, walking slowly from backstage to her microphone stand before beginning her performance. A third clip captured her in a gold sparkly outfit, once again taking only a few careful steps while delivering her signature high notes.

Despite her seemingly slower movements, Carey appeared to be in good spirits, smiling as she belted out her songs.

As the videos gained traction, social media users flooded the comment sections with concern.

“Why is she moving like she’s 105 years old?” one fan questioned.

“I’m a little worried about my Mimi,” another person shared.

Others noted her lack of movement, with one fan writing, “She looks stiff as a board,” while another added, “She can hardly move.”

While fans continue to speculate about Carey’s physical condition, the singer has yet to address the concerns directly.

Known for her love of glamorous stage outfits and high heels, it’s possible her footwear was limiting her movement.

The “Celebration of Mimi” residency, designed as a 20th-anniversary tribute to Carey’s beloved 10th album, “The Emancipation of Mimi” (2005), takes fans on a journey through her legendary career. The show features hits spanning decades, from her 1990 debut single “Vision” of Love to classics like “Dreamlover,” “Hero,” “Fantasy,” “Butterfly,” “Heartbreaker,” “Shake It Off,” “We Belong Together” and “Fly Like a Bird.”

“It’s like the emancipation never ends because I worked really hard to get there,” she said last year. “Coming back to the residency and doing this, it’s something that I really didn’t think I was gonna do. And now, in the middle of it, I’m realizing this is the essence of who I am.”

Beyond honoring “The Emancipation of Mimi,” Carey also celebrated another milestone in June, releasing an expanded edition of her “Rainbow” album in honor of its 25th anniversary. As a special Pride Month gift to fans, the re-release included fresh remixes of hits like “Heartbreaker” and “Thank God I Found You,” along with a brand-new track, “Rainbow’s End.”
