Jake Paul went into full WWE mode after being slapped in the face by Mike Tyson in what many felt looked 100% scripted on both fighter’s part during Thursday’s weigh-in face-off. Paul’s acting ability was puerile and underdramatized, not appearing even remotely authentic. It looked so fake that it was hard to watch.
Given how fake this all looked due to Jake’s poor acting skills, fans will have to decide whether they want to tune in to watch the Paul vs. Tyson on Netflix on Friday night or wait for the full contest to be uploaded on YouTube many times immediately after.
The Tyson Slap Looked Scripted
Former heavyweight Tyson acted his part better, but he’s been in movies before and knows how to act. It would have looked more believable if Jake had walked away after the slap, but he had to ruin it by being interviewed and showing that everything was just an act.
Mike Tyson: “The talking is over,” said Tyson when Ariel Helwani asked him why he’d slapped Jake Paul during the face-off. “I’m f**** him up. It’s personal now. He must DIE.
Jake Paul: “He’s angry, an angry little elf. Mike, I thought that was a cute little slap, but tomorrow, you’re getting knocked out.”
If children or better yet, the influencer Jake’s followers are the ones that that will be watching this WWE fight on Friday night, it won’t be bad for them because they’re used to this stuff. But for true boxing fans that like to see real fights, they not be happy with what they see.
It’s too bad Jake (10-1, 7 KOs) isn’t serious about wanting to become a good boxer, because he might develop into a journeyman-level fighter instead of a YouTuber boxer on the KSI level. I don’t think Jake is into this sport enough to take serious fights that would develop him.
