Vanessa Morgan is all about the essentials.
Morgan, 32, exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about everything she keeps inside her CR Weekender LeSportsac work bag, which was a hand-me-down from her Riverdale costar Madelaine Petsch. “I actually haven’t looked inside so that would be a surprise to me,” she told Us while unzipping the bag, which she described as “ratchet.”
The Wild Cards actress explained that she got the accessory after Petsch, 30, no longer wanted it, but she ended up using it more than “any other bag” because it can “hold all [of her] things.”
Inside, Morgan had everything from makeup to diapers for her baby Kaia, whom she welcomed in August 2024 with her boyfriend James Karnik. (Morgan also shares son River, 3, with ex-husband Michael Kopech.)
While unloading her handbag, Morgan was quick to admit to Us that her worst spill was “probably” breast milk. “I spill breast milk everywhere,” she revealed.

Makeup
Some of Morgan’s current favorite products include the Tatcha Harper Resurfacing Serum, the Kate Somerville pimple treatment and the Augustinus Bader moisturizer, which she uses “religiously.”
She also always carries the Honest Beauty Creme Cheek + Lip Color blush as well as the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter foundation and the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, which she mixes with the Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer. “They’re both in medium shades,” she explained to Us, noting she actually rarely wears foundation. “I’m really simple with makeup.”
Disposable Cameras
“I love my disposable cameras,” Morgan gushed. “I love how it looks. Super vintage, so I always have one of those for memories.”
Wallet
Ensuring that she always has her wallet on her, Morgan keeps it on the back of her iPhone. “I need to get a new one because everybody makes fun of me for it,” she said with a laugh. (For the record: it’s a light green card case that flips up at the top.)
Inside, she keeps a few gift cards to Starbucks, Free People, a Canadian grocery store Choices and Sephora.
Headphones
Morgan’s favorite way to listen to music is with her rose gold Beats headphones.
A Cross Necklace
While she doesn’t keep many sentimental items in her bag, but mostly the essentials, Morgan carries a cross necklace that Karnik got her, and a gold ring that her sister gifted her when she was just 6 years old.
Hair Accessories
“I love thick headbands,” Morgan told Us while also showing off an Urban Outfitters black lace scrunchie. “I hate having to do my edges all the time. So a big headband is a go-to every day for me.”

Morgan doesn’t go anywhere without her Oil of Oregano, which has antioxidant, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. She also carries a nasal spray with Advil, prenatal vitamins and tea bags.
