There is no secret that Leeds may want to bolster their forward line this summer, with recent reports claiming Sunderland forward Wilson Isidor is a target at Elland Road for the 49ers amid his return for the Black Cats this term.

Joining permanently in January, the 24-year-old has scored 12 times in 31 appearances across all competitions since arriving on an initial loan deal from Zenit Saint Petersburg.

However, encouraging form is never likely to go ignored by clubs scouring the market for talent, leading Palmer to claim Leeds would be a ‘fantastic’ move for Isidor in the event they earned promotion to the Premier League and that he was ‘outstanding’ in the Whites’ recent triumph over Regis Le Bris’ men.

He told Football League World: “Spurs, Leeds and Crystal Palace have all been linked with Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor. He’s having a fantastic time at Sunderland. He’s settled down now, he’s scored 12 league goals this season.

“He was outstanding against Leeds United in that defeat for Sunderland. The defeat for Sunderland sees them eight points behind Sheffield United in second place, so automatics are gone now. As I said at the start of the season, I fancied Leeds and Sheffield United to go up. I think that’s done and dusted now.”

Later, he added: “Leeds getting promoted, that would be a fantastic move for them, for both parties, because he would get game time and he has shown his composure. Leeds will need quality to stay up, when they eventually do get promotion sealed.”

Should Leeds put the seal on earning a return to the top-flight, Isidor would help to provide a clinical edge in the Premier League. Overall, the Sunderland star has taken on 75 shots this campaign and hit the target with 34 efforts, per Fotmob.

Either way, focusing on the job at hand right now has to be the main focus for Farke and company before looking too far ahead.
