Indian cricketer KL Rahul recently participated in an engaging session on 25 Questions by ESPNcricinfo, where he shared insights into his favorite players, shots, and memorable moments. Among the highlights, Rahul revealed the three cricketers he would choose for his ideal T20 XI, spoke about a shot he wishes he could master, and even shared a light-hearted take on his early days in the Indian dressing room.
Three players who would feature in KL Rahul’s T20 XI
When asked to pick three players from across teams for his ultimate T20 XI, Rahul named India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, West Indies’ power-hitter Nicholas Pooran, and India’s Mr. 360, Suryakumar Yadav. Bumrah’s ability to bowl toe-crushing yorkers and deliver under pressure makes him a must-have in any T20 side. Pooran, known for his explosive strokeplay and ability to clear the ropes with ease, brings firepower to the batting lineup. Meanwhile, Suryakumar’s innovative strokeplay and unmatched consistency in T20 cricket make him one of the most feared batters in the format.
The shot Rahul wants to steal
Despite being an elegant stroke-maker himself, Rahul admitted that he would love to steal one particular shot from another batter. When asked about it, he picked Virat Kohli’s signature flick shot, a stroke that Kohli executes with precision, sending the ball racing to the boundary with minimal effort.
Intimidated by Ishant Sharma
Rahul also shared an amusing memory from his early days in the Indian dressing room. When asked who initially intimidated him the most, he smiled and named veteran pacer Ishant Sharma. The towering fast bowler, known for his fiery spells and commanding presence, clearly made an impression on the young Rahul when he first joined the squad.
