Jose Mourinho enjoyed a far less stressful afternoon as his Fenerbahce side strolled to a 4-1 win at Gaziantep in the Turkish Cup.
Mourinho has been at the centre of a storm since Monday’s fiercely fought Istanbul derby with Galatasaray ended 0-0.
The Portuguese was accused of racism after claiming members of the Gala coaching staff were “jumping like monkeys” in an attempt to get Fener defender Yusuf Akcicek booked.
That incensed Gala who threatened criminal proceedings against Mourinho after claiming he had used “inhumane rhetoric”.
Fener hit back with a strongly worded statement of their own, accusing Gala of “pathetic slander”.
Lay off ‘dad’ Mourinho
Even ex-Gala striker Didier Drogba has had his say, urging his former club to drop their case and described the 62-year-old as his “Dad”.
With all that going on in the background, Mourinho would have been relieved to have returned to match action today and his players certainly did their bit to quieten the noise around their coach.

Talisca at the double for Jose Mourinho’s men
Despite leaving out a couple of big names in veteran stars Dusan Tadic and Edin Dzeko, Fener were never in trouble in Gazientep.
January signing Talisca maintained his impressive start to life in Turkey with two first-half goals either side of an effort from Morocco striker Youssef En-Nesri.
Anel Husic pulled one back for the hosts but substitute Filip Kostic capped a fine afternoon for Mourinho and his men with seven minutes to go.
Galatasaray play later today when they host Konyaspor.
