RHOP Cast REACTS with Mixed Feelings to Karen Huger’s Jail Sentence!

Karen Huger’s one-year prison sentence has sent shockwaves through The Real Housewives of Potomac cast, leaving her co-stars stunned, emotional, and concerned for her well-being.

The RHOP veteran was sentenced to one year behind bars following her DUI conviction, and while some of her castmates are rallying behind her in prayer, others believe she should have taken accountability much sooner. Ashley Darby, who appeared on The Tamron Hall Show to discuss her divorce from Michael Darby, was caught off guard when asked about Karen’s situation.

“I really do encourage everyone to keep Karen in your prayers,” Ashley said, getting emotional. She admitted she only learned about Karen Huger’s sentencing while on the way to her interview. “I really care about her, and I learned this on the train coming here today, and I cried like a baby,” she confessed.

Wendy Osefo, still in shock over Karen’s sentencing, shared her thoughts during an interview with Extra TV. “I think we were all shocked,” Wendy admitted.

“Even though we knew the sentencing date was coming, even though we’ve all seen the body cam footage, we did not think that this would be our reality—waking up today and Karen is behind bars. That doesn’t seem real, and I’m still trying to digest it.”

She added, “I still find myself at a loss for words.” Wendy revealed that she hasn’t spoken to Karen since the sentencing, as she was taken into custody immediately. “I’m sure this is a difficult time, not just for her but for her family,” Wendy said. “All I can do is uplift her in prayer and wish her the best.”

Gizelle Bryant, who has had her fair share of ups and downs with Karen, admitted that the sentencing left her shocked and deeply concerned. “I am shook. This just happened today,” Gizelle said during her 21 Shady Questions Live event at City Winery.

“I do not have her wigs. I am concerned. In all seriousness, I am concerned for her safety. Karen ain’t cut out for jail.”

She added, “I pray that she’s OK and that the Lord is with her.” Prior to Karen’s sentencing, Gizelle had mixed emotions about the possibility of her co-star serving time behind bars.

“It’s sad. It really is sad,” she admitted. “I mean, do I want to see her go to jail? Absolutely not. But do I want to see her take accountability? For sure.” Gizelle also believed that Karen should have gone to rehab much sooner, suggesting it may have helped her case.

“I think she should have done it right after the accident,” she stated. “I think it actually would have helped her with her case.” Gizelle also revealed that she and Andy Cohen were in constant contact as they awaited the judge’s decision.

“We were going back and forth because we knew that the sentencing was getting ready to happen,” Gizelle explained. “So we’re like, ‘Oh my God.’ He’s like, ‘Oh my God.’ Then it happened, and we’re both giving our feedback on it.”

According to Gizelle, Andy was shocked by the outcome.

“One of the last things he said to me was, ‘When this show started nine seasons ago, never in my wildest dreams would I think that any of the ladies would be going to jail for five minutes—let alone a year.’” With Karen now behind bars, RHOP fans are left wondering what this means for her future on the show.

Fans can watch The Real Housewives of Potomac Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo and stream the full series on Peacock.
