WWE faction sets its sights on major singles championship

A top WWE faction has been trying to regain prominence after it fell from its previous glory. They controlled both the singles and the doubles competition on the roster before. Now, with the introduction of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, Damage CTRL seeks to take over once again.

The heel faction turned babyface for the first time in July 2024. The stable previously had IYO SKY as the WWE Women’s Champion and Asuka and Kairi Sane as the Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Moreover, it also recently gained Dakota Kai back, who was off television due to a knee injury. After this week’s episode of RAW ended, Kai took to X and posted a tweet, sending a message that Damage CTRL was eying the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

“That IC title is in Damage CTRLs crosshairs,” Kai wrote.

Kai has been vying for a singles title for a long time and trying to improve herself despite facing numerous injuries. As she aims to become the inaugural Women’s IC Champ, a rival faction threatened to deny her the title on this week’s RAW.

Pure Fusion Collective also has its sight on the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title

Pure Fusion Collective and Damage CTRL have been in a hot feud. Moreover, PFC was also responsible for injuring Dakota Kai and sending her away on a four-month-long hiatus. While Kai was speaking on a RAW Talk, Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Sonya Deville interrupted her.

Deville highlighted that nobody wanted to listen to another episode of her sob story about getting injured and making a comeback. Moreover, she also said that Pure Fusion Collective would win the title and ensure that Damage CTRL never got its hands on it. This prompted Kai to ask Deville to shoot her shot, which angered Stark.

The wrestlers of both factions eyed each other before PFC walked away. It would be interesting to see what Triple H and the team have planned for the first-ever WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
