Production is officially underway on Selling Sunset season 9, and Chelsea Lazkani is already throwing shade at her costars.
“Going back to film with some of those dusty woman [sic] is stressing me outtttttttttt,” Lazkani, 31, wrote via X on Monday, December 2. One fan replied to the tweet, asking Chelsea, “You need an assistant?! I’ll come with you lol.” She responded by tweeting a laughing face emoji.
Lazkani poked fun at how her castmates might react to her tweet in a follow-up post, writing, “Selling Sunset S9 Episode 1 – Chelsea called us dusty on twitter – 😭 gtfoh.”
Netflix renewed the hit reality series shortly after its eighth season premiered on September 6. The show follows the employees of Los Angeles’ The Oppenheim Group as they sell some of the area’s most luxurious homes. Like any good reality series, the stylish stars also find themselves mixed up in personal and romantic drama.
Season 8 was particularly rough for Chelsea, as the episodes heavily centered around her and estranged husband Jeff Lazkani’s split. Us Weekly confirmed in March that Chelsea filed for divorce from Jeff, 40 — with whom she shares son Maddox, 5, and daughter Melia, 4 — after seven years of marriage.
On the show, Bre Tiesi was informed by her friend Amanda Lynn that Jeff was spotted getting cozy with another woman. Chelsea, for her part, was not happy the information was relayed on camera, leading to a season full of conflict between her and Tiesi, 33.
Chelsea later accused Bre of knowing about the cheating allegations and orchestrating the reveal for the show. “Outside of filming Amanda contacted Bre about ‘tea’ – while filming, Bre orchestrated a fake call during her showing which ‘led to a sit down scene with Amanda,’” she wrote via X in September. “In other words: she set this scene up with production, already knowing said tea to bring it to tv.” (Tiesi did not address Chelsea’s social media comments at the time.)
Back in October, Chelsea exclusively told Us she didn’t know how she “made it through” season 8, adding, “But being on the other side, I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, I am so glad to be here.’ Because I didn’t think I’d be here at all, to be honest.”
While unhappy with how her marital drama played out on the show, Chelsea told Us it was important to her to push through. “We have tens of millions of people watching us. We have little girls who look just like me and who depend on me to make it through hard times. How dare I give up? Because if I give up then they’re going to give up and they don’t stand a chance,” she explained. “They already feel like I’m at the pinnacle. So I knew that even if I wanted to give up — and believe me I did — it’s not just about me.”
She went on to vow that she would not return to the show if Lynn was brought back for season 9. “If Amanda was on the show, I think I’ve made it emphatically clear that I absolutely would not step foot in front of those cameras again,” she declared.
With season 9 now in the works, a source exclusively told Us last month that Chelsea is “eager to terminate” her and Jeff’s marriage “as soon as possible.” (Jeff filed court docs requesting that he and Chelsea be declared legally single in October.)
Netflix has not announced the official cast or release date for Selling Sunset season 9.
