Ray J Was Almost In A Brawl With Diddy’s Three Sons Several Weeks Before Someone Attempted to Shoot Him
The scary shooting comes several weeks after Ray J nearly found himself in a physical altercation with three of Diddy’s children. According to TMZ, Ray J – born William Ray Norwood Jr. – attended a Halloween party thrown by an Instagram influencer in Los Angeles. Also at the party were Diddy’s sons, Quincy, Justin, and Christian Combs.
As the party wound down, the Combs brothers heatedly confronted Ray J over comments the singer allegedly made about their father’s legal troubles. Before things could turn violent, R&B singer Chris Brown and his manager, who also manages Ray J, separated the performer from the three brothers. Ray J Says Diddy’s Sons Have Come After Him Three Times For His Comments About Their Father
During an impromptu interview with rap star Nicki Minaj on Halloween, Ray J shared that the confrontation, which stemmed from comments he made on Diddy during a sit-down with NewsNation, was the third time Diddy’s three sons have approached him.
“We didn’t have a fight,” he first clarified around the 19-minute mark, as additionally reported by Complex. “We had a big argument right outside the club. This time, I think I got loud and got aggressive. But it was the third time this happened, so I felt like I needed to stand up for myself.”

In 2020, Ray J was interviewed by Hollywood Unlocked, where he noted Trump as being “the homie” and relayed that he could get in contact with him rather quickly. Though his allegiance also appears to be unrelated to the shooting, it has caused many of his fans to distance themselves from him while also cruelly reminding him that his more-famous sister, Brandy Norwood, rarely deals with him due to his public antics.
Ray J’s Mental Health Has Been Called Into Question Following A Fight At A BET Awards After Party
Coincidentally, those still in Ray J’s corner have expressed concern about the singer after he claimed to be “suicidal” following an altercation from earlier this year.
Back in June, That Grape Juice reported on a “heated conversation” between Ray J and Lemuel Plummer, the CEO of the Zeus Network, at a BET Awards show afterparty. Things nearly got physical when the singer attempted to assault Plummer, but he was soon ejected from the event.
Later that evening, Ray J took to Instagram to express his frustrations and claimed that fame was a major factor of his issues.
“I’m really at a [breaking] point,” he wrote at the start of a long statement. “To provide for my family and have generational wealth was always the plan. But money is evil and people are bad and I can’t take it anymore!”

He then went on to say that he was planning to “leave the country” before the stress caused him to take his own life.
“I’m on my way out of the country,” Ray J wrote. “The sh-t that is happening is mind-blowing. It’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with the perception of reality. They paid me to shut up and I did! I feel bad and I hate myself for it! I don’t want any more of your dirty money. And before or right after I die, I promise you I will be free of it all, and the world can move on with what is real for me, no matter the consequences on the other side.”
