Nikki Glaser’s performance at “The Roast of Tom Brady” wasn’t just another night on stage—it became a defining moment in her career. Her sharp-witted jokes, including a headline-grabbing jab about Tom Brady’s divorce from supermodel Gisele Bündchen, quickly became the subject of endless conversations.
During the May 5 special, Nikki Glaser delivered one of her standout jokes: “Tom Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns, you have seven rings — well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back,” she quipped, taking aim at Brady’s high-profile 2022 divorce from Gisele Bündchen.
However, Nikki Glaser is now reflecting on those jokes, revealing whether she regrets going as far as she did.

Nikki Glaser Mocks Gisele Bündchen During Tom Brady Roast
Glaser also took a jab at Gisele Bündchen’s then-rumored relationship with her jiu-jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente.
“The only thing dumber than saying yes to this roast was when you said, ‘Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu,’” Glaser said. Now, the comedian admits she hesitated before mentioning Gisele Bündchen during the roast, especially given that Bündchen is expecting a child with Joaquim Valente.

“I mentioned her in a joke, which I did question because she wasn’t there, and it’s like, ‘She’s not asking for this.’ But then I remembered that she’s the hottest person in the world, and I go, ‘She can probably handle it,’” she told People Magazine. “Which obviously is a joke, but at the same time, yeah, I heard that she maybe wasn’t happy with some jokes. I don’t know if it was mine in particular, but I think that was fair.”

Nikki Glaser Reflects On How Comedy Is Perceived
In recent years, comedy has been at the center of heated debates about where the line between humor and offensiveness lies. “I think that comedy is always going to upset someone. And I think if I were [Gisele], I would’ve been annoyed too. So I give her that 100%,” Glaser admitted. “And if I ever met her, I would definitely apologize for hurting her feelings if she was indeed upset about it.”
“But I don’t mind it. If someone’s offended, they’re offended. I am never someone that’s like, ‘It’s a joke. Get over it.’ I will apologize for jokes I make because I don’t always get it right. And I try to punch up, not punch down, and just say what everyone’s thinking without really ruining anyone’s life or reputation,” the comedian continued.

Gisele Bündchen Is ‘Deeply Disappointed’ By Nikki Glaser’s Jokes
Shortly after the comedy special aired, a source told People Magazine that Gisele was “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show.”
After 13 years together, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen officially filed for divorce on October 28, 2022. The former couple shares two children: 13-year-old son Benjamin and 10-year-old daughter Vivian. Brady is also father to John “Jack” Edward, his son with ex-partner Bridget Moynahan.
“As always, [Bündchen’s] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted,” the source added. “This past week, Gisele has been tirelessly dedicated to aiding those in need in her home state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, which is grappling with the worst flooding in its history. She was concerned about family affected by the devastating floods, so to hear her life being joked about was very disappointing.”
