Ronaldo takes family to Lapland for festive activities

Cristiano Ronaldo took full advantage of the Saudi Pro League’s winter break by whisking his family away for a holiday in Lapland.

At 39, the Portuguese icon continues to defy expectations, scoring 16 goals in 19 matches this season for Al-Nassr.

However, despite his stellar form, Al-Nassr have struggled as a team under the guidance of former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli.

The club currently sits fourth in the SPL standings, trailing league leaders Al-Ittihad by 11 points.

With the SPL on a mid-season hiatus, and matches not resuming until January 9, Ronaldo seized the opportunity to enjoy some downtime with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their children.

The family opted for a magical trip to Lapland, Finland’s northernmost region, famed for its breathtaking Northern Lights, winter resorts, and reputation as Santa Claus’s official home.

Ronaldo shared glimpses of the vacation on social media, including a striking photo of himself standing in the snow wearing only shorts.

He captioned the post: “Merry Christmas, everyone,” beaming with holiday cheer.

During their time in Lapland, the family explored various activities, including visiting Santa Claus and riding snowmobiles.

However, Ronaldo steered clear of skiing, as most footballers are typically prohibited from participating in high-risk sports due to injury concerns outlined in their contracts.

Instead, Rodriguez and the children tried their hand at skiing while Ronaldo enjoyed other aspects of the winter wonderland.

The trip marked a stark contrast to their life in Riyadh, where December temperatures hover around 17 degrees.

In Lapland, however, the temperature can drop as low as -30 during the winter months, creating an entirely different experience for the family.

Ronaldo will soon return to action when Al-Nassr faces Al-Okhdood in the SPL on January 9.
