Liverpool and Tottenham are about to renew acquaintances at the scene of one of the most entertaining Premier League games of the season.
The Reds won 6-3 when the teams met at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the top flight on December 8, and Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou may not be relishing another meeting with the league leaders for his depleted squad in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-finals.
Four of Postecoglou’s first-choice defenders are among the Australian’s absentees, while Liverpool manager Arne Slot also has decisions to make three days after his side shared a 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Anfield.

Tottenham vs Liverpool latest
Liverpool are the EFL Cup holders and warm favourites to retain the trophy, which would give Slot his first title since arriving from Feyenoord before the start of the season.
The 10-time champions of the competition won at home to West Ham and away to Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton to reach this stage, coming as part of a 22-match unbeaten run since their Premier League defeat at home to Nottingham Forest on September 14.
Spurs’ fourth EFL Cup title, in 2007/08, is also their most recent trophy, and Postecoglou has publicly highlighted his track record of winning silverware during his second seasons at clubs.
