The wait is finally over! The third season of SA20 2025 is all set to kick off on January 9, with defending champs Sunrisers Eastern Cape taking on MI Cape Town at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. Buckle up for a month of non-stop cricket featuring some of the biggest T20 stars around.
SA20 2025 FormatÂ
Guys like Kane Williamson, Rashid Khan, Liam Livingstone, and Moeen Ali are ready to light up the tournament. The SA20 2025 has Six teams that will battle it out in 30 league games, with each team facing the others twice. After that, it’s playoff time!
Just like the IPL, SA20 2025 will have Qualifier 1, an Eliminator, and Qualifier 2 before the big final on February 8 at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape have already bagged two titles, and they’re eyeing a third one this season. Their first challenge? MI Cape Town in the opener. But it won’t be a walk in the park. The other teams are fired up to stop them.
MI Cape Town, led by Rashid Khan, haven’t had the best time so far—finishing at the bottom in both seasons. But they’re back with a fresh approach and will want to prove a point. However, they’ll miss England’s Ben Stokes, who’s out with a hamstring injury.
SA20 2025 Venues
The matches will be spread across six venues—Durban, Paarl, Gqeberha, Johannesburg, Centurion, and Cape Town. Each team will play on all these grounds, which means fans all over South Africa will get a chance to catch the action live.
The final is set for February 8 at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. It’s the perfect spot to wrap up what promises to be a cracking tournament.Â
