Haney’s Mystery Comeback: “Big” Fights & Garcia Rematch In 2025?

Devin Haney says he met with Turki Al-Shiekh, and he’s got something “big” for him in 2025. He said one of them is a rematch with Ryan Garcia, who he says “cheated” him, and it’s “personal” for him.”

Turki seems to really believe in Haney. He had bought into the hype based on what he did when he was melting down for years to fight at 135. He was seen as a classic lightweight bully.

When Devin moved up to 140, it fell apart for him against Ryan, and he was viciously shelled in a humiliating loss. Haney has been lying low, licking his wounds ever since, and no one has seen him hide nor hair until now when he’s come out of his barrow.

Haney’s Cryptic Comeback Plan

That’s just one of the big fights Turki has for Haney (31-0, 15 KOs). Haney says he’ll have the ” big fights” with his “peers.” However, he’s short on details on who he considers his “peers.”

We know he can’t afford to fight anyone with power right now because he rocked left and right by Kingry last year in April in his 12-round decision loss. Fighters with power are Devin’s kryptonite. So, he has to fight an old guy, or someone who has no pop in their punches.

“I had a great open workout yesterday. I live the turnout, and I look forward to fighting here one day,” said Devin Haney to via Jay on X, talking about his London workout on Friday. “We don’t get recognized for all of our hard work; We don’t get rewarded enough.

“It’s going to be big. The big fights are going to happen with me and my peers,” said Haney when asked how his 2025 will be. “His Excellency Turki Al-Shiekh has a plan for me, and I”m excited to execute it. It’s big.

“It’s 100% personal because he cheated and he got caught. So, it’s very personal, and I want be happy until that fight is done, the rematch,” said Haney when asked about his desire to fight Ryan Garcia in a second time to try and avenge his loss from 2024. “It’s something there for me.”

“We just seen him in the hotel. He didn’t say a word. It’s unfinished business like I said,” said Haney about him crossing paths with Ryan Garcia at a hotel in London today. “We can settle it in 2025, and I think we will.”

I just hope that Turki doesn’t abandon Haney if he gets plowed under again by Ryan Garcia in the rematch. I don’t know what Turki sees in him, but a second defeat will be a moment of enlightenment.
