Jennifer Aydin’s Jersey Mike’s MELTDOWN Has Her Husband Bill FUMING!
Jennifer Aydin is addressing the fallout from her viral Jersey Mike’s Subs video that sparked widespread criticism.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star sat down with Page Six to share her side of the story, admitting regret over her actions and acknowledging the impact it has had on her family and public image.
Dr. Bill’s Advice Ignored
Jennifer revealed that her husband, Dr. Bill Aydin, advised her against posting the video, but she ignored his suggestion. “Bill’s not happy about it,” Jennifer admitted, describing her husband as “the least confrontational person.”
Despite witnessing part of the incident, Dr. Bill felt there was no need to share the situation with Jennifer’s Instagram followers. “When I got back to our group, everybody was so disgusted with the behavior [of the Jersey Mike’s employees and customers],” Jennifer recalled. Feeling justified in her frustration, she decided to post the video, thinking, “I’m just gonna post it so that everyone can see their bad behavior.”
However, the decision “backfired,” as Jennifer acknowledged. “Listen to the husband, ladies! Husbands know best,” she joked.
The Incident Revisited
The drama unfolded on New Year’s Day at an airport Jersey Mike’s as Jennifer and her family prepared for an early flight to Aruba. Frustrated by what she described as rude behavior from both staff and customers, Jennifer began recording her experience, leading to backlash from onlookers and social media critics alike.
Jennifer explained that she waited in line “for what felt like forever” and was upset when another customer who ordered after her received their food first. She directed her frustration toward an elderly employee, commenting on the slow service and their hearing issues.
“The 80-year-old that was working there, I mean, the amount of time she took to cut that bread was almost as much as we were waiting [in] that line. Jeez,” she said in the video.
Jennifer admitted to adding another sandwich to her order mid-process, prompting the employee to tell her to “wait [in] line again.” She then turned to the customer behind her, described as a “freakin’ jerk,” and asked if she could add the item. The man’s dismissive response triggered Jennifer to start filming, escalating the situation further.
The customer, a law professor, allegedly threatened to sue Jennifer if she posted the video online. “My husband’s a medical doctor, OK?” she fired back. “A–hole. And all my s–t is real. I am a f–king celebrity, you a–hole!”
Jennifer later acknowledged her outburst and apologized for referring to the employee’s age. “I should never have called the woman old or whatever. I was just sad that she was working,” she said, adding, “She was so rude afterwards. She was like, ‘I’m not gonna give you your sandwich!’”
Fallout and Lessons Learned
The controversy led to Jennifer being removed from the *Fans at Sea* Housewives-themed cruise, where she was set to join castmates Teresa Giudice and Dolores Catania in September. The cruise line released a statement explaining their decision to “keep the cruise enjoyable and welcoming for all guests.”
Jennifer accepted their decision, saying, “At the end of the day, I could not expect them to take backlash on something that I did. If it’s one thing I am, it’s a very rational, reasonable person, OK? I get it. I did this.”
Reflecting on the situation, Jennifer admitted she had underestimated the backlash. “I thought that I was going to put this gentleman’s bad behavior on blast and maybe I’d get an apology from Jersey Mike’s for being so freakin’ rude and dismissive. But no, I don’t want that anymore! … I’m sorry about the whole debacle. I really, really, like, really am. It wasn’t worth it.”
Moving Forward
Jennifer now says she’s committed to being more cautious about what she shares publicly. “I have to make sure that I’m very cautious with what I post. It’s going to be a huge lesson for me,” she said.
“If I had to do it all over again, I’d air my grievances on my podcast or Yelp,” she added, vowing to keep her social media presence more positive moving forward.
Despite the backlash, Jennifer remains determined to learn from the experience and regain her footing in the public eye.
