Hugh Jackman & Sutton Foster Allegedly Had Double Dates With Their Spouses

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster reportedly engaged in frequent backstage PDA during their run of “The Music Man” while also going on double dates with their spouses.

According to reports, the duo, who have made their romance public, often exchanged “long hugs” during intermissions. The crew reportedly found this behavior “odd” and “uncomfortable,” as the couple didn’t “even hide it.”

Recently, Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster have been spotted publicly showing their affection, including holding hands during outings and sharing passionate kisses in their vehicles.

Before Jackman and Foster publicly confirmed their romance after months of speculation, rumors had emerged that it all began when the duo starred in “The Music Man.”

It was also speculated that their romance might have overlapped with their marriages to actress Deborra-Lee Furness and screenwriter Ted Griffin, from whom they have since separated.

Now, an insider from the musical has revealed that Jackman and Foster did share PDA moments, which were more than what was required for their parts.

“At intermission, Sutton and Hugh would stand and hug for a minute, two minutes in front of the entire cast coming up the stairs,” said the source, per the Daily Mail.

They added, “The cast had to climb four flights of stairs to get to the dressing rooms. And they would stop on Hugh’s floor and just hug in their costumes.”

According to an insider, the co-stars didn’t seem to care if anyone witnessed their public displays of affection and engaged in it “every night” during the run of the musical.

They also claimed they found it “odd” and “uncomfortable” to see the duo behaving this way.

“As the entire cast is trying to get to their dressing rooms upstairs, we all had to pass the two of them hugging,” the source continued. “They didn’t even hide it! It was a long embrace… and it was weird.”

Despite how “weird” the behavior was, the source hinted that they never suspected the couple was romantically involved. They simply assumed Sutton always wanted a hug from Jackman because she seemed “needy.”

“I thought she was just a needy actress,” the insider remarked, “That’s the way it appeared to me – the needy actress needed the hug from the big Superman.”

As part of the performance for their characters, Jackman and Foster were required to “passionately make out on stage.”

The insider noted that the kisses they shared remained oddly passionate, even during rehearsals.

“It was a doozy of a kiss,” the source said. “It’s many measures of music long, and even in rehearsal, it was very passionate. But, it’s supposed to be for their characters.”

Once the show ended, the couple would leave separately, as if their day was over, but strangely, Foster would be “waiting for Hugh to go to his car, and then she would go to her car.”

As the duo continued what appeared to be a game of romantic hide-and-seek, they would frequently go on “double dates” with their then-spouses.

“They had dinners with each other’s spouses and Sutton and her husband Ted were invited over for dinner with Hugh and his wife Deborra-Lee,” the source added.

Although Jackman and Foster have yet to speak on their relationship, they have gone public with it not minding the rumors about them.

Previously, they were spotted packing on the PDA while waiting in line at a drive-through fast food outlet in San Fernando.

During the occasion, they spent time locking lips intensely, with Foster Lovely stroking the Wolverine star’s face while he had his arms around her.

The couple was also spotted sharing a deep kiss while seated in the White Range Rover that Jackman drove to the location.

Before the outing, they were also photographed walking hand-in-hand during a dinner date in Santa Monica, California. During the date, they exuded affection, smiling lovingly at each other as they strolled down the sidewalk.

Although Jackman’s romance with Foster reportedly caused the end of his 27-year marriage to Deborra–Lee Furness, his estranged wife is said to be “relieved” to see the actor finally come out with his romance after months of being “plagued with suspicions.”

“Deborra-Lee feels a sense of relief, to be honest with you,” a source told the Daily Mail. “She has been plagued with suspicions. She was told it wasn’t true, and that they were nothing more than close friends who worked together.”

“But something in her heart told her that this was not true,” the insider continued. “She trusted her intuition, and her intuition was right. She finally feels at ease after getting confirmation that her fears and suspicions were warranted.”

The source added that Furness “can now fully close this chapter and move on” as she “has nothing more to say” about Jackman and his “close friend” Sutton.
