Resolution Games announces Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked on Demeo

Resolution Games today revealed more about its collaboration with Wizards of the Coast, previously called Project Jade. The new title is called Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, and according to Resolution it is a social strategy title where players must deploy their magic and skills tactically in order to win. The game is set to launch on multiple platforms using the Demeo system.

Battlemarked was created using Demeo and allows players to experience D&D-style tactical cooperative roleplay without a Dungeon Master. At launch, it’ll have cross-platform co-op support for up to four players and two story-based campaigns, with more to launch in the future.

Tommy Palm, Resolution’s CEO, said in a statement, “With the launch of Demeo back in 2021, we began to grow an incredible relationship with the D&D player community. Demeo and Demeo Battles quickly became a game night substitute for Dungeon Masters who wanted an out-of-campaign way to have fun with their groups, and for D&D players to introduce their friends and family to tabletop miniatures games. Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked opens up that appeal even further by adapting the classes, actions, and lore of Dungeons & Dragons to this system for all new adventures and a whole new experience built from the ground up with D&D in mind.”

Wizards of the Coast has announced several D&D-related video games made in collaboration with game studios. In addition to Resolution and Project Jade, it’s also making a co-op game with Starbreeze called Project Baxter as well as a D&D-based survival life-sim with Gameloft.

Eugene Evans, WotC’s SVP of digital strategy and licensing, said in a statement, “By leveraging the power of the Demeo system, Resolution Games is able to take a different approach to Dungeons & Dragons by putting the emphasis on fast turn-based combat and pick-up-and-play mechanics. Battlemarked continues Hasbro’s strategy to leverage our extensive catalog of world class IP to create digital games through licensing and internal studio development. By partnering with the best developers in the industry we can deliver new games and innovative experiences across all platforms for our fans to enjoy.
