England Playing 11 vs India

England will be locking horns against Team India in the fifth and final T20I of the ongoing series on Sunday (February 2). The game will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

England have already conceded the series and will be looking to end it on a winning note. The visitors needed to win the fourth T20I at any cost to keep the series alive. However, India beat them by 15 runs to take a 3-1 lead in the series.

Bowling first, England had reduced India to 79/5. However, Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya scored brilliant fifties to take the hosts to 181/9. In reply, England were all out for 166 runs. While Ben Duckett and Phil Salt shared a fifty-plus stand for the first wicket, once the stand was broken, England kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

With England now desperate to end the series with a win, we are taking a look at the England Playing 11 for the fifth IND vs ENG T20I.

England Playing 11 vs India – 5th T20I, England tour of India 2025:

Openers: Ben Duckett, Phil Salt

Ben Duckett and Phil Salt are likely to be the openers in the England Playing 11 for the fifth IND vs ENG T20I. Both the England openers got the starts in the fourth game but neither of them could convert the starts into big scores.

After scoring a match-winning fifty in the third T20I, Duckett scored 39 off just 19 balls in the fourth game. The left-handed batsman looked in good touch in the last two games and will be keen to end the series on a good note.

Salt also got some much-needed runs under his belt after failing to impress in the first three T20Is. The right-handed batsman scored 23 runs with 4 fours.

Middle-order batsmen and allrounders: Jos Buttler, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Jamie Smith, Brydon Carse, Jamie Overton

In the do-or-die match, England captain Jos Buttler failed to deliver with the bat for his side. The right-handed batsman could score only 2 runs before being dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi. With England now looking to end the series on a winning note, their captain would be keen to lead the team from the front.

Harry Brook was England’s best batter in the game. After struggling against India’s spinners in the first three games, the highly-rated batsman scored a quickfire fifty in the fourth game although he would have liked to stay till the end. Brook departed after scoring 51 runs off just 26 balls.

Liam Livingstone had a game to forget as the England allrounder could score only 9 runs off 13 balls when his team needed his services the most. Livingstone would also be desperate to score big in the final T20I. England could recall Jamie Smith in the England Playing 11 for the upcoming game.

Smith was replaced by Jacob Bethell in the England Playing 11 for the fourth game. However, with Bethell flopping once again, Smith could earn a recall in the England Playing 11. Brydon Carse and Jamie Overton are expected to retain their spots in the team. Carse could not open his account but picked up a wicket while Overton claimed 2 wickets and scored 19 runs.

Bowlers: Mark Wood, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood

England could also make one change to their bowling lineup for the fifth T20I. Jofra Archer could be rested and replaced by Mark Wood. For the fourth game, Wood was replaced by Saqib Mahmood in the England Playing 11.

With Mahmood doing well in the fourth T20I, Wood might replace Archer in the team. Adil Rashid is expected to retain his place in the team.
