UP Warriorz have brought in West Indies all-rounder Chinelle Henry as a replacement for Alyssa Healy in the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025.

Alyssa Healy out of WPL 2025 due to injury

Healy, who was set to lead the team, has been forced to withdraw due to a stress reaction in her right foot, an injury that follows previous plantar fascia ruptures.

With Healy sidelined, the franchise is yet to finalize its new captain. Leading candidates for the role include Sri Lankan veteran Chamari Athapaththu, Australian all-rounder Tahlia McGrath, and Indian star Deepti Sharma. Meanwhile, Uma Chetry is expected to step in as the team’s wicketkeeper.
