Haaland hits back at Arsenal after Lewis-Skelly mocks Manchester City striker

Erling Haaland’s father took a swipe at Arsenal as the bitter feud between the Gunners and Manchester City showed no signs of easing during yesterday’s game at the Emirates.

City striker Haaland was in the firing line after he told Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta to “stay humble” following the fractious 2-2 draw at the Etihad earlier in the season.

The Norway international was taunted by the crowd throughout with home defender Gabriel also laughing in his face after Arsenal secured an early lead through Martin Odegaard on their way to a 5-1 win.

Myles Lewis-Skelly got in on the act in the second half, mimicking Haaland’s goal celebration after scoring Arsenal’s third.

Alfie-Inge Haaland, who played for City, Leeds and Nottingham Forest during his Premier League career, was unimpressed and suggested Arsenal should focus on winning trophies given they have only claimed one FA Cup in the last eight years.

City coach Pep Guardiola refused to fan the flames after being asked about Lewis-Skelly’s celebration in the post-match press conference. The Spaniard thought long and hard but simply replied: “That’s good.”
