Janelle Brown Reminisces Feeling Connected To Her Late Son

Janelle Brown is keeping the memory of her late son, Robert Garrison Brown, alive in a deeply personal way. 

This emotional moment comes more than a month after the “Sister Wives” star reflected on her first holiday season without Garrison in December. 

Janelle Brown faced a heartbreaking loss in March 2024 when 25-year-old Robert Garrison Brown tragically took his own life.

Janelle unexpectedly found comfort following the heartbreaking loss of Garrison. The star recently opened up about a journey she took, driving her late son’s beloved pickup truck across the country, a trip that left her feeling deeply connected to him.

Janelle revealed in the caption of her post that the truck holds great sentimental value to her, stating, “It makes me feel connected to my two boys, especially Garrison.”

In a touching video set to Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” Janelle showcased the dual cab pickup truck, complete with a matching shell on the back.

She also pointed out in the caption that the truck originally belonged to Garrison when he moved to Flagstaff, but after February 2022, it became the ride of his younger brother, Gabriel Brown. 

With Gabriel now driving a smaller, more practical car for life in Vegas, Janelle had to decide what to do with the truck. “It’s paid off, and it has more value to me on our new farm than I could get in a trade-in,” she explained. 

Documenting her journey, Janelle shared everything from quirky pit stops to her favorite meals along the way.

In her caption, she noted the highlights of the video, which included a slice of pepperoni pizza topped with green chilies from a gas station in New Mexico and even her first-ever Pistachio Latte from a Starbucks in Conway, Arkansas. 

Her road trip also included classic stops at Buc-ee’s, complete with a photo of the iconic beaver statue at the Amarillo, Texas, location. Fans were quick to flood the comments with support and shared their own stories of holding onto vehicles with sentimental ties. 

“Garrison would be so proud of you! Drive it till the wheels fall off, and then make a big planter out of it! Rock on, Janelle!” one follower encouraged. Another fan shared, “I drove my dad’s car till it blew up and left it on his 50 radio station to feel like he was sitting beside me.”

Janelle’s journey is coming months after she reflected on her first major holiday season without her late son. Taking to Instagram at the start of December, the entrepreneur revealed how deeply Garrison’s absence was felt during the family’s holiday gathering in North Carolina.

The Blast highlighted Janelle’s moving tribute, where she shared, “First of the “big” holidays without you, sweetheart. We all gathered in NC to celebrate together and kept your photo close by.”

While the pain of loss was palpable, Janelle revealed that the family found solace in reminiscing about Garrison’s vibrant personality. She also detailed how the family came together, finding comfort in familiar holiday traditions.

“We ate, played games, and enjoyed each other’s company. Everyone is returning home now, and normal life resumes tomorrow. But I feel you close by,” she wrote. 

After sharing the emotional post, the comments quickly turned into a space of collective mourning and support. One follower wrote, “It’s my first Thanksgiving and Christmas without my son, who passed on 3/11/24. I can honestly say that I know what you’re going through.”
