Britt Baker hasn’t been featured prominently on AEW TV in recent months. New details have come to light that suggest AEW was forced to cancel plans for her.
Britt Baker was the first female wrestler signed to AEW in 2019. She has since established herself as one of the pillars of the company, especially during the promotion’s initial years. When the women’s division was floundering, Baker stepped up as a leader and became a household name.
However, her career took a downturn after the former AEW Women’s World Champion suffered a serious injury which kept her out of action for nearly a year. After returning, she tried to win the TBS Championship from Mercedes Mone but failed to do so.
Given her star power, Baker also made an appearance in the sixth season of the Netflix show Cobra Kai. However, she has made fewer appearances on AEW TV over the past few months.

According to recent reports from Fightful Select, Baker had scheduling conflicts over the past few months and then she fell sick. The Jacksonville-based promotion did have plans for her but they were canceled for unknown reasons.
Britt Baker explained how she got the role in Cobra Kai
Britt Baker’s biggest project outside AEW was her role in the popular Netflix show Cobra Kai. She appeared in the second half of the sixth season where she played the character named Oksana, a Russian sensei from the Tiger Strike Dojo who competed in the Sekei Taikai tournament.
During a recent interview with USA Magazine, Britt Baker explained what led to her securing the role. She said that she met the writer, Hayden Schlossberg, and hinted that she wanted to be involved in the project. The former AEW Women’s World Champion then received a call from him and he offered her the role.
“I met one of the writers, Hayden [Schlossberg], and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m Britt!’ He recognized me from social media. I kind of joked, but not joking, ‘If you ever need anything, I’m a huge fan and would love to be involved.’ Eventually he called me and said, ‘You really have the Cobra Kai never say die attitude. If you’re interested, we have a role for you in mind, and this is what it is!”’ [H/T: RingsideNews]
It will be interesting to see whether Britt Baker will be involved in the Women’s Title picture again.
