Amy Schumer has opened up about her experience using the popular Type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic, which also doubles as a weight loss drug.

Amy Schumer Shares Why She Stopped Using Ozempic
“I have this gene, GDF15, which makes you extremely prone to nausea, which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy,” she told Stern while recounting her “horrible experience” with the drug.
Schumer continued, “So, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago, and I was like, veteran. I was like, vomiting — and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they’re all good. God bless them.”
The actress further noted that despite losing “30 pounds so quick” and looking “great,” she couldn’t “lift [her] head off the pillow” as she felt extremely nauseous while on the drug.

Amy Schumer Called Out Stars For Lying About Being On Ozempic
In 2023, during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Schumer criticized stars for denying their use of Ozempic.
The 43-year-old actress urged celebrities to “just stop hiding” and be transparent about their reliance on diabetes medication.
In addition to criticizing her fellow celebrities, Schumer admitted that the drug made her both “skinny” and “sick,” preventing her from engaging in playtime activities with her then-three-year-old son, Gene.
“You are on Ozempic or one of those things, or you got work done,” Schumer said, per The Blast. “Just stop [hiding their use of the Type II diabetes drug.]. Be real with the people. When I got lipo, I said I got lipo.”
The comedian noted that she had tried Ozempic but found the side effects unbearable and unsuitable as a weight loss solution.

The Actress Shared How Bradley Cooper Bruised Her Ego With A Question About Her Age
During the interview on “The Tonight Show,” host Jimmy Fallon asked Schumer to tell the audience about an awkward encounter she had with actor Bradley Cooper.
Schumer, eager to share, began by saying that she ran into the actor sometime ago and introduced herself with “How are you?”
However, instead of receiving a typical response, Cooper’s reply took a turn that seemingly left her ego in tatters.
She recounted him saying, “You know, I turned 50 this year,” which he followed up with, “You 50?”
Unsurprisingly, the revelation had Fallon and the audience in fits of laughter. Once the laughter died down, Schumer revealed she was actually only 43 before repeating Cooper’s two-word remark to let it sink in.
