Anushka Sharma Poses with Nitish Kumar Reddy’s Family After Boxing Day Test

Bollywood Actress and India’s stalwart Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma was recently spotted posing with India’s rising sensation Nitish Kumar Reddy’s family at the MCG after the Second Day’s play of the Boxing Day Test. The picture, going viral on social media, has Anushka Sharma posing with Nitish Kumar Reddy’s parents and sister.

Anushka’s Support for Virat Kohli Continues in Melbourne

Anushka is currently in Melbourne to support her husband Virat Kohli. She has been seen multiple times in the stands cheering for him during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Series. Kohli, one of India’s most celebrated cricketers, is currently in the midst of the high-stakes Test series. However, Anushka’s presence has been a source of support for the Indian star.

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s family is also in Melbourne to support their son. Nitish made his Test debut for the Indian Team during the First Test of the series. Since then, he has continued to impress with the bat as well as the ball. In the three Tests he has played, he has scored 179 runs at an average of 44.75 and has looked one of India’s most solid batters on the tour. On top of that, he has also taken 3 wickets.

Boxing Day Test: Australia Sets the Pace

The Boxing Day Test, at the iconic MCG, saw Australia take control after Day 2. Australia posted a formidable total of 474, with Steve Smith’s brilliant 140 and Usman Khawaja’s 57 leading the charge. Despite India’s efforts, the visitors found themselves trailing by 310 runs at stumps, with India sitting at 164 for 5.

India’s response saw early wickets fall, with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul struggling. However, young Yashasvi Jaiswal, with a superb 82, and Kohli, with 36, mounted a brief fightback. Their efforts were stymied, though, as Australia’s late surge, led by Scott Boland, proved too much. Jaiswal’s unfortunate run-out and Kohli’s dismissal in quick succession left India with a tough climb ahead.

Kohli and Jaiswal’s Fightback Interrupted

The Indian pair of Jaiswal and Kohli had begun to build a promising partnership after India lost early wickets. Jaiswal’s attacking approach, particularly against the short ball, provided some respite for India. His six off Mitchell Marsh was a highlight before he was run out in a dramatic moment when a sharp throw from Pat Cummins caught him short of the crease.

Kohli, determined to silence critics and recapture his form, looked solid during his stay. His crisp cover drives and powerful flicks off Starc added hope, but he fell to Boland’s immaculate line and length, leaving India in a precarious position.
