‘Below Deck’ Captains Lee and Sandy at War – Lee Says He Can’t Stand Her!
The Below Deck franchise is no stranger to turbulent seas, but it seems the latest storm isn’t brewing on deck — it’s between two of Bravo’s most recognizable captains.
Captain Lee Rosbach, 75, recently made waves when he openly criticized Below Deck Mediterranean star Captain Sandy Yawn, 59, during his Nightcap meet-and-greet tour, naming her as his least favorite co-star.
Captain Lee Doesn’t Hold Back
When a fan at the event asked Captain Lee who he disliked working with the most, his answer came without hesitation.
“I don’t like her,” Rosbach bluntly said, referring to Captain Sandy.
Although Captain Lee has built a reputation for his no-nonsense approach, his comments struck a nerve as he elaborated on his ability to work with nearly anyone — so long as they meet his expectations.
“Normally, I don’t have to like people to work with them,” he explained. “I can work with almost anyone if they do their job —keyword, do your job — do it properly, and I can put up with almost anything.”
While Captain Lee didn’t elaborate on what, specifically, fueled his disdain for Yawn, his pointed remarks left no room for misinterpretation.
Captain Sandy Responds
Caught in the crossfire, Captain Sandy addressed the situation with a mix of confusion and restraint.
“I don’t know what to say,” she admitted when asked about Captain Lee’s comments. “I don’t know what I did.”
Though Yawn is no stranger to criticism, Captain Lee’s candid disapproval seems to have left her perplexed.
The Origins of the Feud
The animosity between the two veteran captains appears to stem from their professional interactions, with the most notable clash occurring during the filming of season 10 of Below Deck.
In 2022, Captain Sandy temporarily took over Captain Lee’s duties while he recovered from back surgery. During her time at the helm, she made the decision to fire stew Camille Lamb — a move that reportedly didn’t sit well with Captain Lee, especially since she didn’t consult him beforehand.
While the decision to dismiss Camille might have been justified in Yawn’s eyes, Rosbach saw it as a breach of protocol. His frustration seems to have lingered long after the cameras stopped rolling, with the captain still harboring what fans have dubbed a “grudge.”
No Reconciliation in Sight
When asked whether he could see a future where he and Captain Sandy repair their relationship, Captain Lee’s response was characteristically biting.
“You’d probably spend a better chance of seeing God twice in the next 30 seconds than that happening,” he quipped.
His sharp words suggest that the rift between the two captains runs deep, with no signs of a truce on the horizon.
Bravo’s High-Seas Showdown
While fans of the Below Deck franchise are accustomed to drama among crew members, this public fallout between two of its biggest stars has taken the drama to a whole new level. Captain Lee’s blunt criticism of Captain Sandy has sparked debate among viewers, with some siding with the “Stud of the Sea,” and others defending Sandy’s decision-making under pressure.
For now, it seems these two titans of the Below Deck universe are destined to remain at odds, leaving Bravo fans eagerly awaiting what might happen next — on or off the water.
Stay tuned to see if calm seas are ahead, or if this feud will continue to rock the Bravo waters.
