Born Again Adds Matthew Lillard to Its Season 2 Cast

Daredevil will be Born Again next week, but information on its next season is already trickling out, including cast additions.

Per Deadline, Matthew Lillard will show up in the second season. Born Again marks his MCU debut, and another part of his ongoing renaissance in recent years. Along with the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel, the actor is expected to make an appearance of some kind as Stu Macher in 2026’s Scream 7; he’s also part of Amazon’s Cross and Mike Flanagan’s Life of Chuck. What’s Lillard doing in Daredevil’s neck of the woods? That’s under wraps, but let the speculation commence.

Production on Born Again’s sophomore season—which will run eight episodes, as opposed to the first season’s nine—is expected to begin in the next few days. The show was already locked in for two seasons when it was announced, but it’s a question of whether Marvel will let it continue beyond that initial order: TV head Brad Winderbaum recently said the studio wanted to have more yearly shows like Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, but it’s also not keen to continue every series under its belt.

During the show’s press circuit, Charlie Cox teased to Collider what he’s read of season two has “some of my favorite stuff I’ve read. […] What [showrunner Dario Scardapane] done so far with this new season is so cool and so different and so sinister, and I’m really, really excited about it.”

First, we need to see the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, which starts on March 4. Expect our thoughts on the show soon.
