Army vs. UTSA game summary

The Black Knights opened the scoring in the first quarter when Daily connected with Tyrell Robinson on a 41-yard touchdown pass. Trey Gronotte converted the extra point.

The Roadrunners drew level when Brandon High Jr. rushed for a 10-yard touchdown. Tate Sandell converted the extra point. The first quarter ended 7-7.

The Black Knights began the second quarter on the front foot and Gronotte made a 39-yard field goal to give the hosts the lead. UTSA tied it up again when Sandell made a 33-yard field goal. However, just before the halftime whistle, Army got back in front when Gronotte made a 35-yard field goal.

Army led 13-10 at halftime.

UTSA got in front in the third quarter after Devin McCuin caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from McCown. Sandell converted the extra point. The Black Knights cut down the visitors’ lead to one point when Gronette made a 22-yard field goal.

Army took the lead in the fourth quarter when Daily rushed for a 1-yard touchdown. The Black Knights attempted a 2-point conversion, but they were unsuccessful.

Daily then rushed for a 42-yard touchdown to give Army some breathing room toward the end of the game. Gronotte converted the extra point. UTSA struck back when Brandon High Jr. rushed for a 6-yard touchdown. Sandell converted the extra point, but Army held on to win 29-24.
