A chef who cooked for Meghan Markle ahead of the 2025 Invictus Games said she shared her former pregnancy cravings with him.
Meghan, 43, and Prince Harry, 40, dined at Vij’s, an Indian restaurant in Vancouver, Canada, with Michael Bublé, 49, and his wife Luisana Lopilato, 37, on Saturday, February 8.
The owner and head chef, Vikram Vij, told Hello Magazine: “They are amazing, extremely beautiful, and very friendly.”
“Meghan said that during her pregnancy, she had eaten only Indian food and I told her it was the best thing for her!” he added.
Meghan and Harry have two children together. Their first child, Archie, was born in the U.K. on May 6, 2019. Their second child, Lilibet, was born in California, where the couple currently reside, on June 4, 2021.
Vikram said he gifted Meghan an apron from the restaurant after the visit “because she said that she enjoys cooking.”
The chef shared an image of the star-studded visit on Instagram with the caption: “When food brings people together, magic happens! We were honored to once again welcome Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Michael Bublé, and Luisana Lopilato for another unforgettable evening at Vij’s.
“Sharing great conversation, incredible flavors, and the joy of coming together — this is what dining is all about!” he added. “A special night made even more meaningful as we celebrate the opening of the 2025 Invictus Games — a powerful tribute to resilience, courage, and the human spirit.”
Vikram previously shared a photo of Harry and Meghan visiting the restaurant in February 2024.
The couple were in Vancouver for the Invictus Games, a sporting tournament for injured or sick servicemen and women which Harry founded in 2014.
The opening ceremony was held at BC Place Stadium on Saturday, with performances from Chris Martin, Katy Perry, Noah Kahan, Nelly Furtado and Roxane Bruneau.
The Duchess of Sussex is a longstanding foodie. Before marrying Harry in 2018, the former actress ran The Tig, a lifestyle blog, where she shared many of her own recipes.
Meghan is gearing up for the release of her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, which will share the royal’s passion for lifestyle trends, cooking, and gardening.
Initially slated for a January release, the docuseries was pushed back to March 4 following the L.A. wildfires.
“In each episode, we join Meghan in the kitchen, garden — and even at the beehive — as she prepares to host friends both old and new,” a Netflix description reads. “Whether Meghan is sharing personal tips and tricks, or taking the opportunity to learn something new, it’s a time for connection.”
