Chelsea transfer news: Ben Chilwell joins Crystal Palace as Carney Chukwuemeka and Joao Felix make moves | Football News

Crystal Palace have signed Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell on loan for rest of the season, while Carney Chukwuemeka has left on loan with Joao Felix set to follow.

The left-back has made just one appearance for Chelsea in all competitions this season – as a substitute in their Carabao Cup win over Barrow in September.

He joined Chelsea from Leicester in August 2020 for £50m and won the Champions League in 2021. He becomes Palace’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the arrival of Romain Esse.

Chilwell told the club’s media channels: “I’m very excited to be here. Crystal Palace is a club that’s going in a great direction. You look at the last few months, with the results and how the team’s playing, and it was a no-brainer to make the decision to come here.”

Chairman Steve Parish added: “Ben has experience at the highest level of European and international football. I’m delighted that he has joined us on loan, and we believe he will prove to be a great addition to the squad.”

Dortmund confirm Chukwuemeka loan

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka on loan from Chelsea.

The Bundesliga side also have an option to sign the midfielder permanently at the end of his loan spell.

Chukwuemeka, who has played 37 Premier League games and scored one goal, told the club’s media channels: “I’m really excited and blessed to be here and represent this big club.

“I can’t wait to play in front of the fans at Signal Iduna Park and bring success to us all.”

Felix loaned to Milan

Meanwhile, AC Milan are close to signing Joao Felix on loan until the end of the season, with an obligation to buy the Portugal international this summer.

He has arrived in Italy for his medical, and Chelsea are set to receive a £5m fee from Milan. The Italian club have agreed to cover Felix’s wages.
