Many of the past year’s most critically and commercially successful films are up for the 2025 Golden Globes’ biggest awards.
Nominations for this year’s awards show were announced in December 2024, with the musical thriller Emilia Pérez leading the pack with a total of 10 nominations. The Spanish-language French film took home four awards during the Sunday, January 5, ceremony, the most of any film nominated.
The movie won two of the night’s biggest awards — Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language. Emilia Pérez also won Best Original Song – Motion Picture for “El Mal” and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for star Zoe Saldaña.
Following close behind was The Brutalist with a total of three wins, including Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for leading man Adrien Brody.
The Substance won in one of its five nominated categories, with Demi Moore earning her first Golden Globes win for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. I’m Still Here’s Fernanda Torres, meanwhile, took home the title of Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama.
