The wholesome moment for Nitish Reddy came when his family met him in the hotel. In a video posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the cricketer’s father can be seen hugging him and crying in joy while meeting his son. He also hugged his mother and sister.

He said: “Nitish played very well today, I’m proud of him. We have struggled a lot. We are thankful to the Indian cricket team.”

Her sister said it’s not an easy journey for the cricketer. “All I could say is we are very proud and very happy. My brother said it and he did it.”

The BCCI posted the video on their social media account with the caption: “The Reddy family has been a bundle of emotions today. Witness the magical moment as they embrace Nitish after he wowed the world with his extraordinary maiden Test century at the MCG. A day etched in memories forever.”
