Everton have made an approach to sign an Olympic gold medalist ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a fresh claim.
Everton transfer news
The Blues are believed to be interested in signing Roma striker Tammy Abraham at the end of the season, seeing him as a possible ideal replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. He is currently on loan at AC Milan, scoring twice apiece in Serie A and the Champions League in 2024/25.
When it comes to a possible long-term signing, 16-year-old Harrison Duncan has been linked with a move to Everton, having emerged as a highly-rated centre-back at Rotherham United. The likes of Manchester City and West Ham also reportedly see him as a player with lots of promise.
The Blues missed out on the chance of signing West Brom midfielder Tom Fellows in the January transfer window, with the Baggies not wanting to lose an influential figure midway through the season. It is thought that the Merseysiders will go back in for him once the summer arrives, though.
There is always a fear that Everton could lose their most important players, and Jarrad Branthwaite certainly falls into that category. The Englishman is said to be wanted by reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid, such is his potential.
Everton make approach for versatile ace
According to Mundo Deportivo [via Sport Witness], Everton have approached Sevilla about signing midfielder Juanlu Sanchez this summer, having reportedly seen a loan offer rejected in the January window.
The Blues are far from the only club showing an interest, however, with Real Madrid, Brighton, RB Leipzig and Galatasaray all mentioned as potential options for him, too. Sevilla are trying to tie him down to a new deal, though, doubling his release clause in the process, and they are awaiting his response.
Juanlu ticks so many boxes when it comes to being an excellent signing for Everton, with the 21-year-old winning a gold medal with Spain at the 2024 Olympics, making two appearances for his country at the tournament and netting once.
The Sevilla man has great versatility, being capable of thriving in midfield, on the wing and at right-back, which David Moyes would surely like the idea of, immediately seeing his squad depth enhanced.
This season, Juanlu has split his time between a central midfield role and right-back mainly, scoring four goals and registering three assists in 10 La Liga starts.
He has struggled to be a guaranteed starter, however, and for that reason, he may feel that a move away from Sevilla would be best for his development instead of signing a contract extension.

Another important move…
At just 21 years of age, there is still so much time for the Spaniard to develop, and Moyes could be just the right manager to get the best out of him.
