FCC chair submits plan to counter cyberattacks after ‘Salt Typhoon’ hack on U.S. telecoms

The outgoing FCC chair has proposed that communications service providers file an annual certification confirming that they have a cyberattack prevention strategy in place after the Chinese hacker group “Salt Typhoon” nestled deep into critical U.S. telecommunication infrastructure to steal consumer data.
