Turki Alalshikh released a new promo today for the December 21st rematch between unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
Haunted Fury
The theme of the promo is one of both fighters being haunted, seeing each other in the faces of people they interact with. From the beaten Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs), the promo accurately portrays what he’s likely dealing with mentally.
If the promo had focused entirely on Fury being the one who is mentally disturbed, wracked by regret, unable to forget what happened to him last May. Tyson and his trainer, SugarHill Steward, have tried to downplay what happened in the loss, brushing it off like it was a simple case of getting caught.
That should be the theme of the promo. Usyk is not dealing with any PTSD issues after the thrashing he administered to Fury in the first fight, especially given what transpired in the infamous ninth round.
Fury, 36, was well-beaten by the highly technical 2012 Olympic gold medalist Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) in their previous fight on May 18th, and he’s troubled by the loss. That loss for Tyson last May reduced his standing in public, and he is now seen as a regular lackey, no different from the other contenders vying to meet with the King.
The fight never ended; it just took over their minds 🤯 #Usyk2Fury Reignited will settle the obsession once and for all 🔥🥊

Fury’s Fight For Legacy
The defeat stripped away the aura of invisibility that the Gypsy King once had, exposing him as just a fighter that was never as the unsophisticated, easily fooled public had thought.
It’s vital that Fury redeem himself in the Usyk rematch because there’s a lot of money riding on it for the Gypsy King, who needs a victory to help build the all-British match against Anthony Joshua.
If Fury gets beaten again by Usyk, he would be backing into the Joshua fight in the first quarter of 2025 with two straight defeats [three if you count Francis Ngannou], and it would make a joke of their match.
