India National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir is under a massive scanner following the team’s dismal outings in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be having discussions with the coach after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Ever since Gambhir has been appointed as the head coach of the India National Cricket Team, things haven’t been going in the Team’s way at all. For the first time in history, the Rohit Sharma-led side faced a whitewash at home in Tests as they were at the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat against New Zealand recently.

Not only this, Ravichandran Ashwin also retired in the middle of the series, and this has put Gautam Gambhir under massive scanner. He also has been criticized a lot for a lot of the selection-related things in the ongoing series.
India opted to play three all-rounders during the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and left out Shubman Gill. This, too, has seen Gautam Gambhir facing a lot of flak for dropping the batter, who was the second-leading run-getter for the Indian team in Tests.

It is also learned that Gambhir and India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma aren’t on the same page regarding many decisions, particularly in selection matters. This issue is likely to be addressed by the BCCI behind closed doors. This will happen after the new secretary will be appointed.
India National Cricket Team are in no position to win the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. They are 2-1 behind the series and can only draw the series. This also has seen their chances to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship final taking a massive hit and they are almost out.
India National Cricket Team would be desperate to win the last game of the series. The match is all set to take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney from 3rd January and a loss here would put Gautam Gambhir as well as skipper Rohit Sharma under massive pressure.
