It is fair to say Graham Potter has made a slow start at West Ham but there were definite signs of progression in the 1-0 win at Arsenal last week.
It wasn’t the Hammers’ prettiest display but it was always going to be difficult against a side that dominate the ball.
However, their desire and work ethic showed a togetherness that ought to stand them in good stead in the weeks to come.
The same cannot be said for Leicester City under Ruud van Nistelrooy. The Foxes were an absolute shambles against Brentford last Friday night, losing 4-0 and barely laying a glove on Thomas Frank’s side.
A home win tonight is priced at 7/10 and we reckon that’s pretty good value, especially as one more win will be enough to all but end any lingering relegation fears for the East Londoners.
Double Dutch
Our second selection takes us to the KNVB-Beker (Dutch Cup) and the clash between Heracles and AZ Alkmaar.
There is an enormous amount riding on this semi-final with Go Ahead Eagles waiting in the final in April.
PSV, Feyenoord and Ajax have all crashed out, meaning this is a wonderful chance for one of the less heralded clubs in the Netherlands to land a major piece of silverware.
A look at the Eredivisie table paints a clear picture of who the favourites are and we are backing AZ all the way.
They are fourth in the table and have won five of their last six in all competitions. Heracles are in 15th having won just three of their last 15 league games, including a 4-0 hammering by Ajax last time out.
AZ are the better side and should prove it tonight.
