How Is Kody Brown Sharing Coyote Pass Land?

Kody Brown is in the middle of another drama with his former wife, Meri Brown, who is calling out his impartiality!

The “Sister Wives” star shared her concerns over her estranged husband’s alleged sharing pattern for the Coyote Pass based on the number of their kids, which now puts her in a disadvantaged spot.

Kody Brown and Meri Brown ended their marriage in 2023, nearly three decades after they married in 1990. Meri joined two other sister wives, Christine and Janelle Brown, who ended their union with Kody in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

The mother-of-one got candid with her best friend, Jenn Sullivan, on the show’s new episode on Sunday, January 19, where she revealed that she has little to no idea about the status of the Coyote Pass.

The conversation emerged when the two friends sat outside Meri’s home in Parowan, Utah, and discussed the contents of the email Meri sent to Kody about the property.

Jenn asked her friend why she had sent the email to everyone, to which Meri replied, “I feel like I gave a date of like a week and a half, just to start the conversation.” After that, Kody reportedly informed Meri that he had been talking to all the right people. Meri continued saying:

“That’s what I said to him,” replied Meri. “I said ‘I’m the right people.’ So I don’t know exactly who he’s talking to and what his plan is, but that’s really all I know.”

She added that Kody could also be planning to dispose of the property, and she has no idea what is happening. In the show’s confessional, Kody said he was pleasant in the email and tried to calm everybody down.

As the conversation continued, Meri confided in her friend that Kody once told her she was only entitled to two acres of land because they shared only one child.

“His whole big thing then was I would get two acres. He’s like, ‘Well, you don’t need as much because you don’t have as many kids,'”  Meri noted.

Per PEOPLE, the reality star defended her stance to an equal share. Meri said she supported the family through the years, including adding family funds to purchase the property and helping all the kids secure college admission.

“I really don’t know how much of the family funds actually paid for other kids’ school or cars, but I know that my kid’s school was not taken care of from the family fund. Kody has actually said this. Because I only have one child, I am not entitled to an equal portion of the property,” Meri added.

Janelle Brown Shared Plans To Let Go Of Her Share On The Coyote Pass Land Last Year

While Meri continues dragging Kody for his alleged decision on how much land to award her on the property, Janelle is gearing up to move on from it and never look back.

The Blast reported last year that Janelle decided to sell her portion of the land and relocate to Montana to be with her daughter, Maddie, and the rest of her family.

Janelle received support from Christine, who described the move as a “no-brainer” for her. She felt it was unhealthy for her to continue living on Coyote Pass without plans to live near her family.

As of last year, Kody was not in on the plan with Janelle. She expressed her frustration at the reality star’s silence on her plan and revealed her plans to take legal action on the situation.

“If Kody’s not willing to buy me out … I’m going to have to do something with it. I think I’m going to have to lawyer up. That’s the only way I’m ever going to get any kind of decision out of him,” Janelle explained.

The Mother-Of-Six Cited Legal Constraints As Obstacle To Selling Off The Coyote Pass Land

Janelle’s sense of urgency on the land’s disposal was defeated by a strong restriction stemming from the lack of legal marriage between her and Kody. “I really have no legal rights to make any kind of claim on Kody’s property. We’re not legally married,” the star acknowledged.

The property was purchased by Kody and his wives years ago as a standing symbol of their close ties to each other. The family had planned to build their homes on the land, now a relic of their once-flourishing bond.

Kody’s plural marriage unraveled in under four months, with Christine being the first to pull out. Following her exit, Kody decided to buy back her portion of the land, giving Christine a chance to relocate to Utah and start a new life with the proceeds of the sale.

Janelle Kicked Off A New Life In North Carolina With A New Property Purchase

Janelle did not let the legal complications prevent her from pursuing the new life she craved, so she purchased a new property in North Carolina.

The Blast reported last July that Janelle spent a whopping $289,000 on the 156-acre agricultural property, which is just 30 minutes away from her daughter, Maddie Brown.

Maddie and her husband, Caleb Brush, moved to Greenville, North Carolina, alongside their three children in July 2021. The TLC star’s decision ultimately fulfills her long-awaited desire to own a home next to her child and grandchildren finally.

Despite their controversial connection now, Kody and Janelle once shared a love so deep and true, leaving behind plenty of memories for the reality star to unpack.

Janelle’s heart is broken, but regret is not one of her emotions when their marriage broke down. Instead, the reality star admitted that, like most things, their love might have died naturally. In her words:

“I know that I didn’t make a mistake in marrying him. I would do it all over again. I didn’t think these kinds of things had an expiration date, but it appears that our relationship might have had an expiration date,” she noted.

Will Meri Brown and Kody Brown find a way around this emerging challenge? Time will tell!
