IND vs ENG: Why Yash Dayal has not been selected in India squad for England T20Is?

Yash Dayal’s absence from the Indian squad for the upcoming T20I series against England has raised questions among fans. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad on Saturday night, which notably included Mohammed Shami’s return but did not feature Dayal.

The left-arm pacer replaced Khaleel Ahmed in India’s reserve pacers’ list during the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy and was also part of the 15-member squad on the South Africa tour.

Reasons for Yash Dayal’s exclusion

1.) Recent Performance and Selection Choices: Dayal’s exclusion appears to be a strategic decision by the selectors, who opted for other bowlers like Shami and Harshit Rana instead. The selection committee is likely focusing on players who have demonstrated consistent performance in recent matches or who fit better into their plans for the England series and the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.

2.) Squad Composition: The BCCI’s decision to include a mix of experienced players and emerging talents means that competition for spots is fierce. With Shami returning after a long injury layoff and other bowlers like Arshdeep Singh also being considered, Dayal may have found it challenging to secure a place in the final lineup.
