Varun Chakravarthy, on Saturday (January 25), ended his 4-over spell in the second T20I against England in a stunning fashion at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. On the final ball of his spell, the India spinner completely bamboozled Jamie Overton.
The right-arm spinner started the game on a strong note. After taking 3 wickets in the first T20I at the Eden Gardens earlier this week, he castled Harry Brook with a beauty in his very first over in the second T20I. He also conceded only 3 runs in his first over.

In his second over, Varun Chakravarthy gave away 11 runs. His last two overs turned out to be a bit expensive. In his third over, the 33-year-old ended up giving away 12 runs. And in his final over, he was taken to the cleaners by Brydon Carse. The England allrounder welcomed him into the attack by hitting him for back-to-back sixes.
However, Varun Chakravarthy managed to end the spell on a good note as he clean-bowled Jamie Overton on the final delivery of his fourth over. It was a googly from the India star and Overton failed to pick it. The England allrounder wanted to hit the ball towards the on-side but was beaten on the inside edge. The ball hit his thigh before crashing into the stumps.

Talking about the game, England have finished their innings on a competitive total of 165/9 in 20 overs. Just like the first T20I, the visitors were off to a poor start in the second game as well. They lost both of their openers – Phil Salt and Ben Duckett – inside four overs.
At one stage, they were reeling at 90/5 and the 150-run mark was looking like a distant dream, especially after the departure of their captain Jos Buttler for 45. However, the likes of Carse (31) and Jamie Smith (22) came up with handy knocks to power their team to a good total.
For India, Axar Patel and Chakravarthy picked up two wickets each. India are currently leading the series after winning the first game by 7 wickets and will be looking to go 2-0 up by winning the second game as well.
