Jimmy Kimmel Comments On Donald Trump’s Recent Drama With Taylor Swift

The 78-year-old president took to Truth Social to mock the pop star for getting booed by Philadelphia Eagles fans when she appeared on the Caesars Superdome jumbotron Sunday. Trump’s post read, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving.”

However, Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t letting that slide.

During his Monday night monologue, the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host set the record straight.

“Unlike you, she stayed for the whole game,” Kimmel quipped, referencing Trump’s early exit from the stadium at halftime.

He also clarified that the boos weren’t a political statement. “It was the Eagles fans who were booing,” he explained, referring to the team’s longtime rivalry with the Kansas City Chiefs. Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, plays for the Chiefs.

Then, turning the tables on Trump, Kimmel added, “But you’re right, it’s all about you. It’s always all about you.”

While the Grammy-winning singer was met with boos on Sunday, she didn’t seem too rattled. Cameras caught her throwing an intense side-eye when her face appeared on the big screen. According to a lip reader, she turned to her friend Ice Spice and asked, “Aw, what? What’s going on?”

But Swift wasn’t the only one who faced a mixed reaction. Trump himself was also booed during the New Orleans game.

One X (formerly Twitter) user joked that it was “pretty sh-tty” to show the politician during Jon Batiste’s national anthem performance. Another user noted, “Before the anthem started I said, ‘They’ll probably show Trump during this to make it less likely for him to get booed,’ but you could still clearly hear … a jumbled mess of cheers and boos.”

Ahead of the Super Bowl, Swift reportedly worried that her star power might overshadow her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Given her A-list status and global influence, Swift was concerned that the attention surrounding her could distract from Kelce’s big moment.

“Taylor doesn’t want to be the center of attention,” a source told The Sun. “She just wants to support Travis and help him focus on the game.”
