Ohio Fans Slam The Singer For Impromptu Cancellation

One displeased fan found the timing of Timberlake’s announcement upsetting, noting: “Canceling bc of being sick is 100% understandable… Canceling 10 minutes before the doors were to open is unacceptable.” Another echoed similar sentiments, stressing:

“Columbus is pissed, man. Why would you wait till the last minute to cancel?! Some of us took time off of work to come see you perform! Some of us drove 2+ hours to come see you perform, and you canceled on us twice. That’s not fair, bro. I’m not mad at you. Just the situation.”

A third shared the same view, pointing out the extra costs some made with the comment: “I feel so bad for the people that paid MORE than just for a ticket… What about parking, hotel, flights, gas, etc. And this was already a rescheduled show from another cancellation.”

Critics Speculate Timberlake’s ‘Flu’ Is A Ruse

While many were displeased by the impromptu cancellation, others did not believe Timberlake’s “flu” claims. “When celebs do this, it always sounds like an excuse employees use when they calling off at work,” someone speculated. Another shared similar thoughts, writing:

“If it was the flu, we would’ve known before 7:00 pm… sad, people paid to travel, park, and eat.. not to be disappointed a SECOND time. Shame on you, Justin. Admit you have a problem rather than disappointing & wasting 1000s of people’s time.”

“Sound check had BEEN over. Because we were already inside for like a half hour or longer. In our seats, and had just finished eating. So tell the truth because this ain’t it,” a third argued. More critics took the same stance, stressing that they deserved better treatment.

Why Did The Prince Of Pop Disappoint Ohio The First Time?

Timberlake’s Ohio fans experienced their first heartbreak last November when the singer canceled a series of scheduled shows because of his health. At the time, he was battling bronchitis and laryngitis.

A month before this incident, The Blast reported Timberlake had announced the postponement of his Newark, New Jersey show. He dropped the news on Instagram, citing the now-common reason for his non-appearance: his health!

“I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I’m so disappointed to not see you all – but I’m working to reschedule ASAP,” the entertainer wrote. Additionally, he promised to give fans the show they deserved.

Timberlake’s world tour has been filled with ups and downs, with The Blast covering the drama at his recent concert in St. Paul, Minnesota. Unlike his previous shows, where fans enjoyed some of his biggest hits, the singer treated the crowd to songs from his new album.

Unfortunately, the tracks from “Everything I Thought It Was” did not resonate with concertgoers, who were reportedly unimpressed and visibly disengaged. At one point, Timberlake tried to engage the audience by getting them to sing along, but he was met with silence.

Another reason fans were disappointed with Timberlake stemmed from his time on a secondary stage at the back of the arena. “He spent quite a bit of time on a second stage at the back of the arena and finished out the show back there, so lost a little luster for anyone toward the front,” a fan lamented.
