Kyle Richards and Girlfriend Morgan Wade Join Edwin Arroyave at Teddi Mellencamp’s Bedside During Brain Surgery
Kyle Richards, her girlfriend Morgan Wade, and Edwin Arroyave gathered by Teddi Mellencamp’s hospital bedside as she underwent brain surgery.
Tamra Judge became emotional while revealing that her podcast co-host, Teddi Mellencamp, will be taking a temporary leave from Two Ts in a Pod as she recovers from brain surgery.
During Wednesday’s episode, Judge, 57, informed listeners that Mellencamp, 43, would be going on a “brief sabbatical to deal with some health stuff.” Holding back tears, the Real Housewives of Orange County star assured fans that Mellencamp remains committed to the podcast and looks forward to returning soon.
“I’ll allow Teddi to tell her story when she’s back,” Judge said as her voice cracked. “But you all know how much she loves this podcast and wants nothing more than for us to continue on recording while she focuses on her health.” She concluded by thanking fans for their “continued love and support.”
Mellencamp Opens Up About Health Battle
At the beginning of the episode, Mellencamp briefly addressed her diagnosis, revealing that doctors discovered “multiple tumors” after she sought medical attention for “severe and debilitating headaches.”
“They found I have two brain tumors, which need to be removed, which are getting done today,” she explained. “And then I have three more smaller tumors that will most likely need to be removed with radiation.”
Mellencamp chose to share her health struggle publicly to prevent speculation. “I feel really grateful that I’ve been able to have a conversation with my kids about this, that I’m sitting in the hospital with Edwin [Arroyave] and my friends, and I’m feeling ready and positive for surgery. Stay tuned,” she added, referencing her estranged husband.
Social Media Announcement and Surgery Update
Prior to the podcast episode, Mellencamp shared the news in an Instagram post, explaining that a CT scan and MRI revealed multiple tumors on her brain, which doctors believe had been growing for at least six months.
She later underwent emergency brain surgery to remove the two smaller tumors. Expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support, the All In founder acknowledged her children, family, friends, and medical team. “I am blessed to have support from my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health,” she wrote.
Family and Friends Stand by Her Side
Mellencamp’s close circle rallied around her before surgery. She shared hospital photos and videos with Arroyave and best friends Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade, who visited her ahead of the procedure.
Arroyave, 47, also posted a heartfelt message alongside a photo of Mellencamp in her hospital bed. “Lord, I lift up @teddimellencamp to You. You are the Great Healer, and I ask for Your healing touch upon her body. Restore her strength, renew her spirit, and let her feel Your comforting presence. Grant her peace, hope, and full recovery. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
The former couple’s children — son Cruz, 10, and daughter Dove, 4—joined their parents in the hospital room. Their eldest daughter, Slate, 12, was not featured in any of the shared posts.
As Mellencamp begins her recovery journey, her supporters remain hopeful for a positive outcome and her eventual return to the podcast.
