Method Man became a trending topic on Thursday after a media report claimed he recently put THE PAWS on a family friend! But, not long after, Method’s lawyer clapped back at the report and denied the incident entirely.
“Mr. Smith categorically denies the allegations as reported and has not been the subject of an arrest by any law enforcement agency,” the attorney said in a statement to The Shade Room.

Here’s What The Report Said Method Man Did
The circulating report originated from The New York Post and cited law enforcement sources. It alleged that Method Man assaulted a family friend at a Crunch Fitness gym in Staten Island but doesn’t specify when this occurred. The report further claims that the friend, 28-year-old Patrick Sokoya, had a relationship with Method’s daughter over 10 years ago. The law enforcement sources allegedly told NYP that the altercation was over said relationship.
Method Man is accused of allegedly punching Patrick seven times in the face “with a closed fist.” Although Patrick allegedly felt dizzy at the scene, the report claimed he denied medical attention. NYP also claimed that NYPD filed a complaint report about the incident but did not arrest Method Man, whose real name is Clifford Smith Jr.
Method has not spoken about the alleged report on his social media platforms. According to PEOPLE, the Wu-Tang Clan rapper-turned-actor has three adult children. His firstborn in the 90s was a son named Shakuan. Also in the 90s, Method welcomed twins, another son named Raekwon and a daughter named Cheyenne.
His daughter is now a growing artist and goes by the stage name Chey. In 2024, she released the singles, ‘Hair and Nails’ and ‘Boujee and Ghetto.’
