Millie Bobby Brown made a splash on her 21st birthday, fully embracing an under-the-sea aesthetic for the special occasion.

On Wednesday, Millie Bobby Brown shared a glimpse of her birthday celebration in an Instagram video, captioning the post, “thx for the bday wishes… hi 21.”

The “Stranger Things” star stunned in a mermaid-inspired look, complete with long blonde fishtail braids, an ocean-green sequined dress, and a starfish accessory to tie it all together.

In the short clip, Brown sits in front of a heart-shaped cake as someone off-camera places clear, square-shaped sunglasses on her head. Moments later, another person lights a candle in her mouth, which she then transfers onto the seashell and sand-decorated cake, fully committing to the fun and playful vibes of the night.

To top off the celebration, Brown mouths the lyrics to Aly & AJ’s 2007 hit “Potential Breakup Song,” specifically the line, “Except for the fact it was my birthday, my stupid birthday.”

Brown’s birthday tribute quickly garnered love from both fans and fellow celebrities. Singer Halsey dropped into the comment section with a sweet message, “Happy birthday queen!”

Meanwhile, fans couldn’t help but reflect on her journey from child star to full-fledged adult.

“Last time I saw you, you were 11,” one person joked, referencing her “Stranger Things” character.

Brown and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, may be taking their love story to the big screen.

The “Stranger Things” star recently shared in a Vanity Fair interview that she and Bongiovi are eager to develop films that amplify powerful, unconventional stories, projects that go beyond the typical Hollywood formula.

“Jake’s passion is creating stories that ultimately empower people,” Brown said. “He shares such a similar goal to me in that. I want others to be able to watch my projects and feel empowered and feel like someone is rooting for them.”

Bongiovi, son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, has already dabbled in acting. He appeared in the comedy Rockbottom, which follows the comeback of a hair metal band, and the teen rom-com “Sweethearts.” He has also directed a short film, “Action Juice,” which has yet to be released.

Brown and Bongiovi secretly tied the knot in May 2024, later celebrating with a formal wedding ceremony on October 2 at Villa Cetinale in Italy. Now living together on a farm in Georgia, the couple has been focused on building a strong foundation in their marriage, something Brown says was deeply intentional.

“We were pretty united going into it,” Brown explained. “We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want.”

For Brown, there was never any doubt that she had found her person.

“It’s such an important decision, and we wanted to make sure we were making the right one. I knew I was. It always felt right with him.”

Beyond their shared creative ambitions, Brown spoke candidly about her deep love for Bongiovi, emphasizing the difference between loving someone and being in love.

“Loving someone and being in love are two different things,” she said. “I think I loved a lot of people I was with, like I loved my friends. But he is the first man I’ve ever loved and been in love with. If we’re not fully invested, then what’s the point? We have to be, and we always have been.”

As Brown continues to expand her career, she’s preparing for two major projects.

The final season of “Stranger Things” is set to arrive later this year, marking the end of the Netflix phenomenon that launched her career. Meanwhile, her upcoming sci-fi adventure film, “The Electric State,” is set to be released on March 14, 2025.
